Corn

Baby Corn by Gibran General Store

I had really high hopes for these, and had been looking forward to taking a bite since I purchased these in late August. The corn looks absolutely delicious, and the initial aroma when opening the jar is appetizing. However, the corn loses something when you pop one in your mouth. Let’s face it, one of the best parts of a good pickle is a nice crunch, and this corn just doesn’t have it. The texture of the baby corn is generally limp and soggy and the overall taste is unimpressive. Yes, it’s definitely pickled, but there are no other spices in the brine, so it comes off a little bland. It’s like someone spilled some vinegar on your corn. The aftertaste is a little unpleasant also. I felt the need to brush my teeth

Ingredients: baby corn, water, vinegar, sugar, salt
